After the accident, the driver can be seen getting out of the car and trying to free it from the debris that fell on it.

The timestamp on the video shows the crash happened just after 3am

Police said by the time they arrived shortly after, the driver had already left, but his car was still at the scene.

Investigators say a second video given to them by a witness showed the driver dressed in a green hoodie and gray shorts picking things up from the trunk of the car and driving away .

Sauce Buckhead released a statement on Friday saying it would not be closing the restaurant for repairs.

On behalf of the Buckhead Sauce family and staff, we are saddened by the damage to our property early this morning. This unfortunate accident caused significant damage to our new patio dining area. We are equally grateful that no one was harmed or injured in this incident. However, the inability to operate at full capacity serving customers on our terrace will have a significant financial impact on our servers, bartenders and staff. We ask the great city of Atlanta and our regular customers to continue to support us and our staff as we rebuild and restore what has been lost in this situation.

We will continue to open our doors as the holiday season approaches and we appreciate all of your support in advance!!! Hope to see you tonight!!

Channel 2 crews visited Sauce Buckhead on Friday evening and found the restaurant open with the debris cleared and new wooden poles in place to begin repairing the patio.
