Andy Hansen opened Major League Pizza in downtown Everett in 2010 and doubled the size of his baseball-themed shop three years ago.

Baseball memorabilia cover the walls inside the shop, and Hansen plans to incorporate baseball cards into the table tops.

For the past twelve and a half years, Andy Hansen has served some of the most popular pizza places in Everett, Washington.

Before coming to Everett, Hansen operated his store in Smokey Point. “Things were going well at Smokey Point, but the landlord called me and said he was planning on raising my rent,” Hansen told us during a recent visit. “By chance, the next day, the owner of our space in Everett reached out to us out of the blue and gave us a generous offer to open here downtown.”

Hansen has roots in the restaurant business, owning and operating Old #3 Tavern in Ronald, WA for six (6) years, from 1977 to 1983. In 1984 Andy moved to Western Washington and started to work for Dominoes and learned all about pizza. business and when the time came, he opened… a sports and collectible card shop.

Yes, for a decade Andy sold sports cards and collectibles, before opening Major League Pizza in 2005.

Yes, they really offered a “pizza for Thanksgiving dinner”

It’s a family business and Hansen makes sure they use fresh ingredients, mix the dough by hand and put quality first. He’s also not afraid to try new and shall we say unusual things. In November 2014, we brought you their pizza of the month which was basically a cooked Thanksgiving meal in a pizza with cranberry sauce, stuffing, turkey, and mashed potatoes.

Hansen’s Major League Pizza is a big supporter of events in Everett. This weekend they are sponsors of Sorticulture, they are involved with Cruzin’ to Colby and sponsor Aquasox Baseball, Silvertips Hockey and Everett Royals Football.

Like many business owners we spoke with in our “Meet the Owner” series, the pandemic presented challenges for both its supply chain and its staffing. Hansen has 20 employees. Delivery accounts for about 70% of its business, as Major League Pizza serves the 98201 and 98203 zip codes in Everett.

You can order online from their extensive menu which offers chicken, wings, meatballs and sandwiches in addition to their pizza.
