Pasta Bar Otto will open | Eat Drink

Phil Howard launched pasta delivery brand Otto with business partner Julian Dyer when we were coming in and out of lockdown, and now he’s turning it into a brick-and-mortar restaurant on Piccadilly later this year. Yes, London is getting another fresh pasta joint. Executive chef Louis Korovilas (who himself opened Bancone and Noci and worked at Locanda Locatelli, so he knows a bowl of pasta well) will lead the kitchen, preparing a menu of simple snacks and entrees like rosemary, tomato and garlic focaccia and vitello tonnato, and authentic pasta dishes between £9 and £13, including:

  • gnocchetti with crushed sausage, white wine, fennel & chilli
  • pappardelle with stewed beef shank, oxtail & red wine
  • squid ink spaghetti with sardines, peppers & tomatoes
  • bucatini with autumn vegetable ragout, mushrooms & chestnuts

You’ll also get to see all the pasta rolling in action as the open kitchen is the heart of the restaurant, with wooden features, olive green tiles and shades of rattan bringing the vibe of the Italian trattoria. If you’re looking for a great meal in the center that won’t break the bank, Otto might be the one to have in your back pocket.
