Pizza Lab and more: opening of 6 restaurants and stores in Hoboken in 2022

HOBOKEN, NJ – The pandemic has not stopped another wave of small businesses, restaurants and services from opening or preparing to open in 2022 in Hoboken.

Photography and babysitting spaces, a new medical lab and more have posted signs across town. And construction is underway at several older stores around the corner to turn them into something new.

Pizza And More

First, the owner of the highly anticipated Madison Pizza Lab recently said in social media comments that the 152 Newark St. restaurant will open “sometime in January.”

Owner Dave Carney, who also runs Madison Bar and Grill uptown, previously previewed his slices last fall on the town’s pizza crawl.

Meanwhile, construction has progressed quickly to signs for a new cafe on Eighth and Bloomfield streets, replacing a dry cleaners that closed not long ago. It looks spacious (see photo above).

And speaking of restaurants, Hoots Wings – a quick, laid-back chicken wing joint from the folks who brought you Hooters – will open in Hoboken in a year or two. Meanwhile, for busy parents who need a break, another custody / play deposit space was due to open this month for the kids, also offering classes, birthday parties and a day camp. . At the water’s edge, Labcorp has posted signs on River Street, but has yet to announce an opening date.
