Slimming World mum shares easy pasta recipe and fans are loving it

A baked pasta recipe shared by Mom of the Slimming World proved popular with fans on Facebook and Instagram. The recipe takes less than an hour to make and feels indulgent despite its low “syns” content.

Slimming World is a popular group slimming organization. It is the leading slimming organization in the UK, and thousands of people join every year in the hope of losing weight. Members of Slimming World “learn to plan and base their meals on naturally low-calorie foods that will keep them full and satiated for longer.” Members are encouraged to eat ‘free’ foods, with other types of foods being tracked using Slimming World’s ‘syns’ system.

Slimming World Mum shared a new recipe perfect for weeknights and it got fans excited. The mum shared the recipe on her Facebook page, which has over 20,000 followers. You can read all of our Slimming World stories here.

The baked pasta recipe contains 5% ground beef fat, onion, peppers, mushrooms, garlic and seasonings and takes less than an hour to prepare. Slimming World Mum recommends its followers to serve with salad or garlic bread, and that it can be “syn-free” if you use your “healthier” choices.

Sharing the recipe on Facebook, she said: “Although I’m getting there, my appetite is still a little bleh…And all I imagined was cheese and beans on toast tonight, not really exciting, I know, but this little beauty is exciting! It’s syn free, full of speed, topped with cheese, involves pasta, I mean, it’s just everything you want and need! That’s why I’m sharing it again!”

In the recipe, it says to make the hash:

  • Pan-fry 500g ground beef 5%
  • 1 onion
  • Mixed peppers
  • Mushrooms
  • Garlic
  • Fry in Fry Light until mince is golden brown
  • Add JD Seasonings bolognese, passata, tomato puree and Worcester sauce and simmer for 40 minutes
  • I then cooked some pasta and mixed with the mince and poured into a dish, topped with chopped peppers and red onion and 40g of reduced fat cheese
  • Bake until the cheese has become all gooey and delicious
  • Serve with salad and garlic bread using gluten-free Schar ciabatta, on which I rubbed garlic, added some mixed herbs and toasted.
