Ingredients:

  • 4 medium pita breads
  • 4 oz pepperoni, sliced
  • 4 ounces salami, sliced
  • 4 ounces ham, sliced
  • 2 ounces onions, diced
  • 2 ounces of green peppers
  • 2 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 4 ounces of mozzarella
  • 4 ounces of pizza sauce


Directions:

  1. To soften your pita, place it under a panini press for 30 seconds each.
  2. Cut the top to ½ and open it.
  3. Fill the bottom half with 2 tbsp pizza sauce, 1 oz each meat, ¼ oz onion, green peppers and mushrooms.
  4. Finish with 1 oz mozzarella and wrap tightly from the bottom and place on a panini press.
  5. Cook 3 to 5 minutes over high heat.
  6. Cut in half and serve with more sauce on the side for dipping.


The Kilted Chef Pizza Sauce


Ingredients:

  • 1 can 28 oz fire roasted tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 3 minced garlic cloves
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 2 tsp dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon of fennel
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar


Directions:

Place all ingredients in a blender and whisk to combine.
