The beautiful Cheshire campsite with its own bar, lake and pizza oven

With the summer school holidays on the horizon, now is the time to start thinking about days away and hopefully some British sunshine. One way to really immerse yourself in nature is to go camping.

Whether you’re a seasoned camper with all the gear you need, or someone who prefers a little more comfort, choosing the right campsite is what can make or break your trip. Kings Acre Glamping, a small family run business just outside Chester, listed by Pitchup.com as one of the top rated campsites in the North West, is a beautiful location and is nestled in 20 acres of parkland, it is therefore the perfect escape from the stresses of everyday life.

It offers facilities for campers to pitch their own tents as well as glamping options for something a little more luxurious. But what sets this campsite apart from the others are the facilities it offers.

It has a small lake, perfect for dipping your toes on a hot summer day, or you can relax on the terrace and admire the calming water. This is a magical place and hard to believe you are only a 10 minute drive from Chester.

If you think camping means missing out on delicious, freshly prepared food, think again – this campsite even has its own pizza oven that you can rent. Another gem Kings Acre has to offer is a small lakeside bar, so there are plenty of places to hang out if you want to spend the day camping, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Barbecues are allowed and you can also hire fire pits if the evenings get a little chilly. The campsite also has a policy of parking cars in a dedicated area, so that the campsite maintains its tranquil atmosphere.

The campsite has its own mini lake

The location is perfect for exploring nearby Chester, or you can head further afield to North Wales and visit the amazing beaches it has to offer. Snowdonia is only a 40 minute drive away.

Prices start at £24 per night, for up to four people, for a non-electric grass tent pitch, with a minimum stay of two nights. Bell tents start from £45 per night for a basic unfurnished tent, or from £75 per night for a bell tent with double beds and single futons, based on two adults with a minimum stay of two nights .
