Pizza is one of the joys of life, and every city and town has its own take on pizza. Santa Fe, New Mexico is a beautiful place located in one of the busiest sections of the United States. This means that there are many unique cuisines and travelers who pass through here. You might not think of Santa Fe as a pizza place, but there are plenty of unique places. The great thing about the pizzerias I’ve visited here is that there was a unique Tuscan flair to the food.
These are a few places I decided to stop by when we were in Santa Fe. The smell of pizza echoed through both restaurants and I knew I was in for something special. It’s true that the pizza you’ll eat in Santa Fe is unlike anything else you’ll ever experience. If you’re ever in Santa Fe to visit, you have to stop by these two delicious pizzerias.
Downtown Top Crust Pizza
329 Old Santa Fe Trail, Santa Fe, New Mexico 87501
When you first walk into Upper Crust Pizza, you know you’re in for something special. The unique exterior of the restaurant is covered in Tuscan style stucco. The food is delicious and the menu is made up of original dishes. I decided to have the vegetarian pizza when I was here, and it came with a garlic butter sauce and an extra thick crust.
The crust is always the most important thing to me when it comes to pizza. But the fresh vegetables also add to the wonderful flavor. The rest of the menu has the usual favorites you would expect such as calzones and salads. The outdoor seating is well placed and nothing beats coming here for pizza on a nice day.
Lino Trattoria and Pizzeria
204 N Guadalupe St, Santa Fe, New Mexico 87501
This is another delicious pizza place I stumbled across when I was in Santa Fe. The authentic look of the restaurant immediately sucked me into the atmosphere. The menu consisted of meat pizzas and a vegetarian menu. I like the option of having a vegetarian menu, because you don’t always want to be confined to a meat-based pizza. Sometimes vegetarian options are also tastier.
Margherita pizza was a must for me. I love this type of pizza anyway, and having it an option here was great. Fresh ingredients include roma tomatoes and fresh mozzarella cheese, and the blend of these flavors is outstanding. Topped with organic basil, you can’t go wrong with this flavor combination. The Burrata Pizza is also a delicious pizza that uses fresh burrata and porcini mushrooms to create a lovely flavor combination. This is one of the best pizza places in Santa Fe, in my personal opinion.
